Holiday Markets
I've been talking about doing it since I conceived Christopher Street Cookies. This is the year I take the first step.
Christopher Street Cookies is going to be applying to two of the COOLEST NYC area holiday markets out there.(I will share which ones in another post)
In my typical fashion the second I mentally committed to going forward with the application process I've been obsessed with what cookie to bring.
I started out with a list of about 10. A variety! Peeps want choices! I started getting really fancy schmancy looking for la-di-da kinds of cookies & over complicating things in my quest for kick ass perfection.
Thank the heavens my brain has a rational side & last night that side hit the emergency stop button & reminded me that I am ONE woman and if I am too ambitious I will surly fail.
I needed to take a deep breath and be smart about this. I don't want to make this about quantity. I'm not looking to be the booth with the most variety I'm looking to be the booth that has that one item that draws the crowds and gets people talking.
I asked myself what my most requested and most popular cookie is and in a flash the answer came to me:
It's the Orgasm Cookie. (henceforth to be knows as "the incredible cookie with the naughty name")
What is this cookie I speak of?
It's a sandwich cookie comprised of two chocolate chip cookies and dark chocolate ganache in the center.
Since I'm always looking for the edge of the clif I wanted to see what would happen if I made this cookie jumbo sized.
The results are better than I had hoped for.
5" wide and almost 7 ounces. Now THAT is a cookie!!
It is my plan to offer this cookie as an individual pre-wrapped gal right along side her little sisters which will be the more traditional sized sandwich cookies.
I will keep you all updated....

Kickstarter Project
This is my Kickstarter project.
Hi there!
My name is Diana Whittles and I'm in the process of starting up a cookie company called "Christopher Street Cookies" I will be renting a commercial kitchen here in Hoboken but it's my ultimate goal to have my own shop. To that end, I've started a Kickstarter campaign to help me raise the funds.
Every single pledge, no matter if it's $5 or $500 dollars gets a dozen cookies as my way of saying thank you for believing in me and wanting to be a part of the cookie revolution.
Without your kindness and generosity I will not be able to make my dream a reality and the fair citizens of Hoboken will never know what a really good cookie tastes like.

I completely understand the hesitation in making a pledge to back a product you've never tried.
I'm happy to offer you all a sample cookie or two in exchange for the promise of a pledge once you see how superior and kick ass the cookies I make are.

Photos
Tomorrow my partner in crime is coming over to help me photograph my cookie creations for the brochure. Tonight is bake night and I've currently got a counter covered cooling trays of Maple Bacon. It smells AMAZING in here and I'm trying really hard not to eat it all myself...
Will share photos when I get them!
Cookie Types
Our Cookie list.
We understand how personal cookies are. At Christopher Street Cookies we know how disappointing it can be when your cookie doesn't meet your high expectations. So often, cookies look fantastic or come with insane accolades and when you try them you are let down.
We've been there more times than we care to admit. It's actually part of the reason Christopher Street Cookies was invented (and one of the main reasons we don't do those iced decorated cookies. Nice to look at but lacking taste)
Sub-par cookies are the worst thing we think can happen to a cookie lover and so we will strive to do everything within our power to be sure this does not happen to you.
To that end, as you cruise down the menu please know that because your cookies will be made to order you truly can mix and match and design your perfect cookie.
Want Chocolate Chip Cookies but don't like Milk Chocolate? No sweat! We can do Dark chips, semi sweet chips, white chips or veer completely away from chocolate and do butterscotch, toffee, or peanut butter.
Our Naked Chocolate Chip cookie was born from this type of request. A friend wanted a chocolate chip cookie without the chips. We thought he couldn't possibly be alone in this request and turns out we were right. The Naked is super popular!
Same with nuts. We can do Walnuts, Pecans, Almonds, Macadamia, Cashew. Dried Cranberries can be subbed for Raisins, and raisins can be golden or black. Are you getting the idea here?
Sky is the limit and we PROMISE we won't judge you.
There is no cookie combo that's too bizarre or too full of stuff. If you want it, we will make it. You are by no means limited to what you see listed here. These are just some of our favorites and most popular.
TRADITIONAL COOKIES
Milk Chocolate Chip Cookies - These cookies really need no explanation. Using a recipe that is time tested and multi-generational approved gives us a cookie that will make you smile and reach for a glass of milk.
The PittyPat Cookie - Diana's eldest son doesn't like chocolate so these were created with him in mind. The Pitty Pat uses the same recipe as our chocolate chip cookies but has white chocolate chips rather than the traditional chocolate chips.
Snickerdoodles - A timeless simple, unfussy cookie. Bursting with cinnamon flavor these taste warm and comforting.
The Flourless Peanut Butter Cookie - This cookie is dense, and insanly rich and we recomend you don't eat it too far from a tall glass of milk or a nice cup of coffee. As a lovely added bonus, this cookie is gluten free!
The Flourless Soy Nut Butter Cookie - On a quest to make a cookie for my lovely pal Jesse who developed a peanut allergy later in life and therefore knows what peanut butter tastes like, I came up with this cookie. Using the same recipe as the Flourless Peanut Butter Cookie but replacing PB with the Soy Nut Butter. She wept when she tasted it. We bet you can't tell the difference either. Double bonus! Allergy friendly AND gluten free!
Oatmeal Raisin Cookie - Chewy, flavorful, classic. This cookie will never go out of style and will always remain one of my favorites.
The Naked Cookie - Chocolate Chip Cookie minus the chips. We can also do the PG-13 version of the naked and add just nuts.
ROCK STAR COOKIES
The Frankenstein Cookie - These cookies are the late night result of a craving for salty and sweet. Chocolate Covered Fritos, Potato Chips, peanut butter covered pretzels, dark chocolate chips and white chocolate chips. Trust us, these cookies are stupendeous. We've converted more than a few timid non believers with just one cookie.
The TCB Cookie - These were created on Elvis's birthday. Peanut Butter Cookies with pieces of real bacon mixed in, topped with banana frosting. These come either open faced as just a cookie with icing or as a sandwich with two cookies and the icing in the middle. If you are feeling really daring, we offer the triple decker TCB which is a peanut butter bacon cookie, banana frosting, a second peanut butter bacon cookie and then your choice of strawberry jelly or chocolate frosting and then we top it with a third cookie. OUT-RAGEOUS and not for the faint of heart!
The Whole Hog Cookie- This cookie was born of a request for a maple, bacon, chocolate chip cookie. We tinkered and played around till we found the perfect, amazing combination of all things wonderful (bacon and chocolate? Hello?!). We start with the traditional Chocolate Chip Cookie, then take maple bacon, dip it in milk chocolate, and mix it into the batter along with dark chocolate chips. Trust us and try it. If you like sweet and salty you will love this cookie.
The Carrot Cake Sandwich Cookie - These cookies are my secret weapon. When I need something from someone, I bring them half a dozen of these and after one bite, folks are willing to move heaven and earth for me as long as I promise to keep these cookies coming. Two dense, oatmeal based carrot cake cookies (yes, they do indeed have real carrot in them and you can see and taste it) with a cinnamon cream cheese icing smooshed loveingly in the center. These cookies are serious and don't mess around.
The Lock Stock & Barrel cookie (also known as the LSB cookie which is not to be confused with the TCB cookie) This cookie has something for everyone in it. Chocolate, coconut, oatmeal, nuts, raisins, peanut butter.

About us
Christopher Street Cookies strives to make cookies as you remember them. The cookies your grandmother or mother made with you at her knee.
Today the trend in baked goods and patisseries seems to be towards exotic, gourmet super high end ingredients. The word "artisanal" is tossed around a whole lot and it usually means you will spend your entire paycheck on a pound of cookies.
I want to keep it simple and unfussy. Back to basics.
A few important notes on who we are and what we can and cannot do:
We do NOT do those sweet cut out iced lovely looking (but usually lousy tasting) decorated cookies.
We do drop cookies. Think Chocolate Chip, Oatmeal Raisin, Peanut Butter.
We can do a plain sugar cookie (not cut out) and decorate with sprinkles or sanding sugar or edible gold or we can dip them in chocolate but we do not do the highly decorated iced cookies. And NO, we won't even try so please do not ask.
Our cookies will never win any beauty pageants.
Because our cookies are made from scratch and by hand, they will almost never be perfect little circles of cookies goodness.
They will be lumpy, bumpy, slightly misshapen cookies.
This is a GOOD thing because you know that they were made one at a time, dropped onto a cookie sheet by hand and with love. I promise, that you will forgive them for how they look when you taste them. My cookies rock. They will put all other cookies you've had to shame and will ruin you for cookies in the future. I'm THAT confident in what I'm baking.
We do use nuts and do work with peanut butter in our kitchen. We do our very best to keep our cookies with nuts separate from the non nut cookies, even going so far as to work on separate tables and changing gloves between batches but our kitchen does have nut dust and we absolutely cannot guarantee that our cookies are 100% nut free.
We can do a soy nut cookie that, when our official taster with nut allergies ate one, it actually brought tears to her eyes because it tasted exactly like a peanut butter cookie.
We LOVE big orders. The bigger the better. The more I get to bake, the happier I am. My only request is that since we do not have a storefront and we are working out of a rented commercial kitchen, we need at least 78 hours lead time on your order.
Speaking of orders...
We DO have a minimum for our cookie orders.
We require you to order a minimum of 2 dozen cookies.
For orders under 3 dozen, we also request that you pick just one type of cookie.
Orders of 4 dozen or more may mix and match cookie types.
Our traditional cookies are $15 per dozen & our rock star collection are $25 per dozen. Delivery within Hoboken is free. Outside of Hoboken we charge a $10 delivery fee.
While our focus is on cookies we do have some really killer diller brownies and bar style cookies that we can do as well. If you are interested, please drop us an email and we will be happy to discuss options and prices with you.
It should also be noted that our cookies are full fat, not organic, not vegan, have gluten and should be consumed with no guilt at all. It's a COOKIE for crying out loud! If you want a healthy treat, I suggest you eat a granola bar.

Welcome to Christopher Street Cookies
Christopher Street Cookies is a startup company which began in June of 2007.
I am Diana Whittles the owner, creator and wearer of many hats.
I am a very proud native New Yorker who was lucky enough to have grown up on Christopher Street in the West Village.
Hence the company name.
For now Christopher Street Cookies is a small one woman operation with just me, myself and I doing all the baking and marketing and product development.
As I grow I hope to add more employees.
As a stay at home mom with two pre school boys (ages 6 and 8) I found myself baking almost every day so the boys could “help” mommy with a project.
The results would go to work the following day with my husband.
The more I baked, the more I found I was energized and excited by the discovery of new recipes and the recreation and personalization of them.

I came up with a list of about 50 I wanted to make.
That’s when I remembered I am a one gal operation, a full time mommy and a wife and the days only had 24 hours in then and I only have 2 arms.
So I sat down and using the saying “Keep It Simple” as my mantra I went back over the recipes and found a small handful that stood out.
All the cookies were good, but I didn’t just want a good cookie, I wanted an out of the world, over the top cookie.
The kind of cookie that makes your eyes roll up into the back of your head and you can’t speak till you are done eating.
After I put the boys to bed at night I’d become a sort of a mad scientist. Experimenting, swapping out ingredients and even trying different styles of the same ingredient (European butter vs. supermarket bought butter toasted walnuts vs. non toasted)
I think after all my hard work and experimenting and tinkering and blood sweat and tears I have developed a cookie I can be proud of.
